The short version
About Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a site; similar technologies include browser localStorage and sessionStorage. This policy explains which we use and why, and supplements our Privacy Policy.
Legal Basis and Consent
Under the ePrivacy rules and the GDPR, strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent; we use them on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure service. Our audience measurement neither stores nor reads anything on your device, so the consent rule for cookies does not apply to it; the aggregate statistics it produces rest on our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f), in understanding which pages are useful. If we later introduce analytics or marketing cookies, we will request your consent first through a cookie banner, set non-essential cookies only after you agree, let you accept or reject by category, and let you withdraw consent at any time.
Managing Cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking the session cookie will sign you out and may break core features. If we introduce non-essential cookies, you will be able to change your choices at any time via a cookie preferences control.
Changes
We will update this policy if our use of cookies changes, with a new date and reasonable notice for material changes.
